Solicitor Apprentice

Overview

Matthew qualified & was admitted as a Solicitor in Autumn 2025 following completion of the Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme at Northumbria University.

He joined the firm to work in our general office, here he showed a keen interest in land law & the conveyancing processes. In 2019 began studying as our very first Solicitor Apprentice. He worked extremely hard during the six year course to qualify. During those years he also worked with the firm to build up experience in various areas of law.

Areas of expertise

Conveyancing

Matthew has been engaged in numerous property sales & purchases & understands the requirements of the Land Registry particularly well. He understands all the processes involved with a property sale or purchase; he is well equipped to assist you through such a move. He is our most proficient user of the Land Registry portal & can update them with any necessary changes to your property title.

He is also able to advise you on the risks & benefits associated with gifting or transferring your property to a loved one.

Wills

Matthew has prepared numerous Wills for clients. He understands the benefits of planning how you wish to distribute your estate on death, the different types of ownership of assets & inheritance tax considerations.

Lasting Power of Attorney

Matthew has assisted with the preparation of many Lasting Powers of Attorney. He understands the importance of correctly signing the LPA’s to successfully register with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Recognition

Matthew successfully completed the Solicitor Apprenticeship course. He gained excellent results throughout his studies & was admitted as a Solicitor on the 1st October 2025.
