Probate Technician

Overview

Caroline is an experienced member of our team who registered as a Probate Technician in April 2023, she is currently studying to become a Probate Practitioner.

She joined the firm in 2003 & has gained lots of experience in the running of the office through being our Cashier & Office Manager for many years. During this time, she regularly assisted in file management procedures & the preparation of Estate Accounts.

Since beginning her studies in March 2022 she has begun using the knowledge gained to advise clients in the preparation of Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney as well in helping clients to make applications for probate & to manage & finalise estates.

Areas of expertise

Wills

Caroline has been engaged in numerous Will instructions. She understands the benefits of planning for how you wish to distribute your estate on death, about the different types of ownership of assets, inheritance tax considerations & prides herself on a speedy turnaround.

Lasting Power of Attorney

Caroline has assisted with the preparation of many Lasting Powers of Attorney. She understands the importance of correctly signing the LPA’s to successfully register with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Probate

Caroline is growing her understanding of this area of law by engaging & managing a growing number of probate files. She is supervised & guided by our more experienced members of the team. She has knowledge of the inheritance tax implications & process to apply for a grant of representation.

With her many years’ experience in our Accounts office, she understands the importance of promptly gathering all funds in the estate, paying any creditors & preparing Executorship Accounts detailing the finances for the personal representatives.

Key achievements

Caroline is a very organised & conscientious member of our team, with an eye for detail she has managed our administration needs for more than 15 years, her achievements include leading the way & preparing the necessary paperwork for the firm to achieve & maintain our Lexcel Accreditation. The Law Society’s best practice management standard.

Recognition

Caroline successfully registered as a Probate Technician in March 2023 following her online studies, in her own time, to complete the Level 4 Probate Law Diploma.

She continues her studies & is currently working towards completing the Level 6 Probate Law Diploma, to become a Probate Practitioner with the firm soon.
